Thunderbots is comprised of three sub-teams: Mechanical, Software and Electrical, as well as Admin. Each of these sub-teams, while they do work together, spend their year focusing on a variety of area specific projects that will improve the robots by the next competition.
The Mechanical Sub-team is focused on enhancing the existing hardware. The goal is to create a model that is robust and enables us to improve our ranking at competition.
The Software Sub-team is working to constantly add new skills to our robots inventory. This involves improvement of old programs to ensure the code base is as clean as it can be.
The Electrical Sub-team works on hardware validation, as well as PCB design, assembly and soldering. They're always working on making sure the cable management is as compact as possible!
The Admin Sub-team ensures that the student group is meeting deadlines, has the necessary funding and hosts events for the team.
